Case trimming .50- 2 1/2"

Any one know of equipment to make this less of a chore....?

All my usual sources (Wilson , green, orange and blue) have little to offer in .50 cal.

I have a case trimming die now....but I really don't want to FL resize unless I have to?

Thanks....and Happy New Year

I use all kinds of trimmers.  Hard die style from C-H work good, quick lick with a file they are trimmed.

Looking at the old RCBS style hand crank trimmer they could probably be modified to trip larger cases with a custom pilot and cutter.  Lee makes a lot of custom dies perhaps they could make one of there chuck mounted hand held trimmers for the big 50's  I use the Lees when I have a odd case that's going to get little trimming. Mount the case in the lathe.

Only thing is long straight single shot cases don't get trimmed much. It's been years since I trimmed my 38/55 fixed cases.  Just recently trimmed up 100 new 45/70's and thats all they will probably ever get. I think I would go with C-H do it once then never again.

That's probably where I'm heading(trim die).

I forgot that Lee does custom work....and they have a lot of 50 BMG items....not much of a stretch there.

I think I will give them a call.

Thanks

Send Wilson an e-mail.

A few months ago, I inquired 'bout a trimmer for a .50-70 Gov't. They replied that all they needed were 3 cases --fired, FL sized, or new. I believe  the cost was US $30.00 or 35.00. Will need to find the e-mail again for exact price.
