Got a question. This Stevens 22 cal. serial number 576 has a problem ejecting the fired round. The gun looks in fair condition, stock is a little rough, bore is said to be good. Is this gun worth messing with, and are parts available?

How does it shoot - that is the fundamental question in MY book.

Extraction - is it an issue with the extractor being worn or something with the chamber?  One of those is EASY to fix.

To me it would depend on the price. It may not be worth what you have in it when you get done, but don't necessarily let that stop you. I have more than one gun that I have more in it than it is actually worth but I still enjoy the guns and am glad to have them. It is not all about the money, it is about doing the things you enjoy doing and having  the things that you enjoy.

I also think good price. They don't get much cheaper than that and it does not look bad at all for that price.

The owner said you can still see some rifling in the barrel.  So probably a re-barrel at the least.

Definately clean the barrel and see how it shoots first. I would recomend relineing rather than rebarreling unless you can find a good original barrel.

Thanks. I thought it could be lined rather than the new barrel.
