From previous posts & discussions. Try again to load photos. Paid $450.00 + 10%.  ASSRA #82, .32-40 Win., Douglass XX, 28" 1/16. From the estate of Rolland (buddy) Sombart.

Just learned that this rifle has a Kepplinger set trigger, a $249.00 upgrade. WOW.

Ballards may be weaker,
but they sure are neater!

Wow! Sounds like a real bargain price! I'd love to see a larger picture of the forearm area. Couldn't blow that one up large enough to see how they did the wood around the hanger.

I would love to see an enlarged picture also. The current picture does not include the forearm did one come with the rifle and might you know what work has been done with the hanger of which is typical to eliminate unwanted vibrations. Amazing price tag attached to it especially if it is one of the ASSRA actions and if not still one heck of a buy in my book.

Try this photo. There, figgured it out, sorta.
Don't plan on putting a forearm on it, If required by match rules then a 'stick of wood' would be attached. The hanger appears to have been cut and welded to clear the barrel. I plan to rest the barrel just forward of the hanger on a fitted block of wood cut to fit the front rest. The rifle has no safety installed. This rifle has REAL potential. Just wish I had known what the 'H' I was doing and bought the custom molds, breach seater(s) etc.

Hi c.robertson,
That was a very good buy, I think if you check other Ruger # 1's you will find that all of the hangers are welded to the front of the receiver at the factory. And most will take a 1.200 barrel without any problems.
