Just received the 40-65 C. Sharps High Wall I traded my 32-40 Win High Wall to 65pan for and it is a beautiful rifle. 30" full octagon #3 profile Badger barrel, case-colored receiver, shotgun pistol-grip stock with cheek-piece, single-set trigger, Baldwin globe front and Heilman Soule rear. Will get some 200m dope at Saturday's match. Get's an MVA 28" scope this winter and will be my scoped-rifle for silhouettes. Should be great fun and a nice compliment to the 38-56 iron-sights Win-Miroku High Wall. Thanks, Jim.

Is John Schoffstahl still the owner of C. Sharps?

At one time he was trying to sell the company.

I had a rifle on my 'wish list' with C. Sharps and recently received an e-mail message from John about same, so he either still owns or at least is still the president. Perhaps he wants to join me in the ranks of the retired. Best job I've ever had. Don't have enough time to do all the things I want to get done (shooting, hunting, reloading, travel, reading, goofing off, etc.).

I did send the above rifle out to C. Sharps last Tuesday to be rebarreled with 32" full octagon Win #3 1/2 taper in 38-56. They received the rifle this Monday and the new barrel the same day. They called today to confirm the location of the MVA scope bases (28" scope) and told me that by the end of the day tomorrow all the machining would be complete, but the tanks would not be hot for bluing until after Xmas. Now, that is one fast turn-around on a rebarrel. This was one of three calls from them during the week to confirm what I've ask for. I feel that I'm getting absolutely terrific service and should have the rifle back by mid January, when I'll post another picture for comparison.

Back just shortley before Quigley made the sharps desireable I ordered a C Sharps rifle and sent in my down payment. Four years later almost to the date and allot of false promises I finaly asked them to please send my money back and it left a real sour taste in my mouth. During this time frame thanks to Quigley the price of the rifle took a big leap in price and I think this played into the whole scenerio as they could now get substantialy more than what I would have paid for it at the original quoted price.

J.Louis - Naw, that's just the way John operates (yes, it's annoying). Sad  In '98 I ordered a rifle and it took me two years to get mine. Angry  But now there's a new guy who responded (Pete?), sometimes along with John, to every call, every e-mail.  Getting two emails on same topic shocked me! Shocked  Also received several phone calls confirming components wanted on .32-40 HW semi-Schutzen.  Still took a year on two rifles, but received free upgrades and a discount on the latest.  Slow transition from disgrunted, to happy; but would like to move on to elated. Cool

Yes, Pete seems to have made a big difference in the way C. Sharps is working with their customers in the past few years. A couple of my shooting friends also  report a high level of service and response on issues from new rifles to a part that needed a different thread. Hopefully, a permanent change.
