I bought a rifle a few years ago.It is a Story action(similar to a Hoch) schuetzen chambered in .33-40.The rifle came with a mold made by Conrad Grims. It is a 225gr. base pour spitzer.I plan to rebarrel to .32-40.This mold will probably be for sale soon,I was wondering what it might be worth.I would appreciate any info and if your interested please let me know.Thanks.

Any particular reason for re-barreling to 32-40 instead of using the 33 cal barrel? I used to shoot a 33 an it was as accurate as any 32. I finally sold that rifle to upgrade to a better action not because there was any problem with the 33-47 (it's general nomenclature).

There are indeed two Americas. Simply put, it is not the haves and have nots. The two Americans are in reality divided into those who do and those who don't.

When I got this rifle it needed restocked(was left hand and fairly crude)which I've done. The barrel is only 24",I would like it longer. The gun shop owner could not find the breech seater for it,which I need.I already have gear for the .32-40 or I might rebarrel for something I can shoot fixed ammo.Time and money are always an issue,I can use the money more than a mould collecting dust.

Paul Jones produces a quality mold for $250 new without handles.

Connie Grims work is exceptional and always of the highest quality.
What condition is the mold in after use?

If I were you I would keep the mold, Contact Ron Smith and have a .33 cal barrel made to the dimensions of the bullet.
For a breech seater I would contact Al Storey at the Borchardt Rifle Co. He may have some advice. The other option is to contact Russ Weber, he will make a breech seater for almost anything.

The guy I bought this from said his brother owned this rifle. They stocked it lefty. It has a heavy tapered rnd barrel.he wasn't sure of the make.Said his bro shot in Golden for years, last name is Stelitano I believe.Rifle came with 2moulds,pope style loading tool,50 bullets, brass, palm rest, couldn't find the breechseater, and an extra straight bull  barrel that I think is for a REM. Hephburn chambered for .40-50 Sharps straight. My action is #18,spoke with Al Story about maybe 2 yrs.ago to get some info

It has a single trigger. The whole gun is in the white,I've restocked it but still have not shot the gun.It hurts to have such a nice gun and not see what it can do.I spoke to russ weber in Raton 2 yrs. ago about a breechseater but never followed up on it.Talking to guys like you about it gets my juices flowing,no matches close to me so that makes it tough to motivate myself to get this project going.

He has been asking $250 for the .25 caliber molds. Not sure if he raised the price for all molds or just for that mold for some reason.

I didn't think Paul Jones made 25 cal molds, but I can see the extra cost for them since it is harder to lathe bore smaller sizes.  Thought I saw he only went down to 32 cal.

Dave in regards to the 25 cal. moulds one of shooters made a request to Paul for a new mould and he quoted $500.00 + so I guess one could take that as not wanting to cut anymore 25 cal. moulds but if one is willing to put up that kind of money then it would probably be silly not to?
