.28 Mould

I am trying to help a friend get a .28 up and running. I am looking for some examples of either a Pope or Schoyen .28 cal bullet. The modern style don't have a large enough base. Pope's measure about .288" to .289". The modern ones don't come close to that. thanks.

One more question this rifle has a chamber that was cut for a 32-40 or 25-35 necked down to .28. The chamber has no transition from cartridge mouth to the throat just a taper and then the rifling starts. There is something tickling the back of my brain and I can't get it to the front. I could swear that I read about somebody who necked a 32-40 to .28 but I can't remember who. I know it isn't Pope he used 32 Ideal. There are people a lot smarter than me out there and I know somebody will know this.

When the 28's first arrived, one of the necked down cases was the 32/35 Stevens.
