Jamison Brass closing down

The following is posted on the Jamison site. Did not see anything here about it and some have just recieved their 25-20 ss brass.
Jamison International News and Updates

Welcome to our News and Updates page where you can get up-to-date information on what is going on in the Jamison International community! Here we will update whenever new products are in production, for sale, or restocked; as well as any sales or promotions that are being offered. Here we will also notify you of any status updates about the company and our products along with any other note worthy topics. Be sure to check back often because updates will be frequent.

(10/17/2011)
I am sure that many of you have heard the the rumors about Jamison International shutting down its plant. Unfortunately this is true. We would like to thank everyone for your business with us and we want to apologize that we will no longer be able to make our great products for you. You will still be able to purchase products through the website until this Wednesday evening. On October 19th, 2011 at 4:00pm Mountain Standard Time orders will no longer be able to be placed. All orders placed before that time will still be shipped out to you by the next day. Again we would like to thank all of you for the support and hopefully we will return under another company name. Sad

That's very rough news for all the owners of old rifles both single shot and double rifles, not to mention a host of other obsolete BP firearms. A greater pity for the employees though, who would appear to have no guarantee of future employment.    Cry

Graf & Son's still has some Jamison Brass in stock also but it probably won't last very long now that the word is out that Jamison is closing the doors.

This a punch in the gut !

Glad I ordered another 100 of the .25-20SS in May, even though I didn't really NEED them then (or now).  My hoarding gene played me right for once.

Wonder what put 'em under....

Wonder where the machinery and the people will go.   Somebody there knew how to do it right.

You may very well see this company rise from the ashes.  The company is profitable, and has enough business to keep it going.  The problem was legal issues between partners, and associated costs were going to bankrupt the company if it continued.  Hopefully a split and resurrection will put it back on track.

Talked to Marc this morning.  The partnership is being dissolved, and the assets of the company will be sold.  He's looking for investors to restart if he can.  Now would be the time to call him if you have a yearning to be in the brass cartridge business.

That is just one side of the story. When attornies start squabbling there often is very little 'truth' involved. Only greed.

This is reminiscent of when the gunwriter hack Jamison sued a gun company (Winchester?). We have enough enemies outside the shooting sport/industry without eating each other up.
