Question
John,
What I mean by that is, would you change the brand, type or size of your primers if you knew that it would mean that you would average one extra point per target. Or the twist rate, powder or bullet to get that same advantage.

Answer
Aboslutly yes I have and will continue to do so in an attempt to pickup yet another.

Frank world records, national records, club records and personnel records are all a by product of one point. World championships, national championships and olympic medals are a by product of one point also. The majority of the competition I have shot over the years has been CBA events in the plainbase class as our club used to hold ten events a year including a two day regional. I have shot in matches where one did not place in the top three due to not having a high enough X count. For those not familiar with an X in CBA it does not fall very short from a center shot in ASSRA with ten X's would be the equivalent of a 250.

If ones rifle cannot provide one more point and or an X then it is not performing to its utmost capabilities whether being used off the bench or in the offhand position of which Jim Feren and a handful of others can verify.

The best and latest example of the meaning of one point would be Dale Reynolds recent and remarkable accomplishment of shooting four consecutive 250's of which could not have been accomplished if he was not getting the most out of his rifle / load combination.

Man! You guys really have some lofty goals!   Shocked

Now how bout setting some world records? !   Wink

I'm happy when I place in a match. It's getting harder to do too.

At my level, testing primers is a huge waste of time and money.
