Does anyone know where Buffalo whiz can be purchased? I've been unable to locate it on the net and their web site appears to be no more.

Thanks,

Andre'

You might try asking on one of the black powder forums like the Shiloh site.  I believe the that man who sold that stuff was one of the BPCR shooters at Fort Chadbourne, Texas.  Never used it, but that is what i remember.

Andre'

You might try calling the phone number of the supplier.  It was sold by Richard & Richards, Rt 1 Box 211, Blackwell, TX 79506.  The phone numbers listed on the gallon I have is 915-282-2901 or 915-743-6132.

For the uninformed, Fort Chadbourne Buffalo Whizz (great name by the way) was primarily sold as a concentrated BPCR case cleaner, but could also be used as a BPCR bore cleaner.  2 cups of Whizz was mixed into 1 gallon of water.  Most shooters I'm aware of dropped their field deprimed cases into a jug of diluted Whizz shortly after shooting to soften and remove most of the BP residue prior to final cleaning by hand or in a tumbler with ceramic media.  Per the instructions on the bottle, it could also be used as a bore cleaner by mixing 2/3 concentrated Whizz with 1/3 Murphy’s Oil Soap, followed by wet and then dry patches, and oiling prior to storage.

The active ingredients of the concentrate are four types of ammonium chloride mixed with 98.2% inert Ingredients (probably water).
