I was melting down some lead last night It was sheet lead that I got from inside the walls of an x-ray room. When I was pouring it into my lee ingot mold it came out with the prettiest case color look to it. There were a few ingots that might be to pretty to use. Is it the heat or the pureness in the lead or what gives it such nice color?? TommyAuger

Lead is described as a blueish color.
Yep you got as near as pure as you can get.
I have many bricks of lead that was surplus from radioactive containment rooms, that stuff has to be certified as pure under gov regulations.
Same might be true of shielding lead for x ray.

It means it's soft lead. No tin, zinc, antimony or other metals in it.
