Interesting... but I do believe your rear sight is on backwards. It should fold down toward the receiver. And the middle band should be turned around so the front volley sight is on the left side of the gun.
Otherwise it is a beautiful gun, and more than likely more accurate than it's cousins the Norwegian and the Swedish R/B due to it's slightly smaller caliber.

Must have belonged to a left handed volleyer?

Interesting comment on the rear sight.  Now I'll have a project to research... again!  I don't think a fella would be hurt investing 600.00 in  this rifle.  Your comments on the price will be welcome.  Bob

I paid 250.00 for mine - twenty years ago. I thought the price was outrageously high.  The rifle was so nice I couldnt help buying it.

The twist in my barrel is 29 inches. I cut a RCBS 500 grain bullet mold down till it weighed about 375 grains.  Won some 200 yard military musket matches with it . One notable win, notable to me anyway, was the time I beat Bob Gordon and his Borschardt. Bob was THE man to beat. He used a very nice Borschardt with a new Douglas barrel and a Buffington sight.  Bob about fell over when he saw what I beat him with. A bone stock Danish rolling block. My eyes were better then.

The rifle will shoot very accurate. The one complaint I have with mine is the trigger pull.  It's tough.

No doubt about trigger pull.  You can always tell when someone is shooting a military rifle.  Just listen for the grunts before the bang!

There was a nice article on the Danish Rolling blocks.  It was a three part article by Croft Barker in Black Powder News (SPG), starting in Summer issue in 2009, second part in Fall of 2009 and third in the Winter issue.
I thought I had got mine at a really good price, free, but ended up marrying the daughter of the guy that gave it to me.  Probably have more money in to the rifle than any other one I have now, lol.
