smokeless storage

Does storage temperature affect smokeless (or black) powder? I mean within reasonable limits, e.g. in a hot garage or in a cool cellar for example.

A friend had a fire and his powder and amunition was in a styrofoam cooler and was not harmed.

Absolutely. Heat, humidity,  and light, in that order, will degrade smokeless in more or less a straight line depending on lenght of time it is subjected to either.
