Where to seat a 500gr Saeco 1881 using 5744?

Hey all,

I'm loading accurate 5744 and shooting it in a pedersoli rolling block.  It doesn't have a crimp groove so I seated it so that the case is flush with the top of the last ridge and gave it a slight crimp.
Any advice would be appreciated.

That bullet is a copy of the original govt. 1881 bullet.  It was designed for a crimp over the front band.  In my original Trapdoor it has proven a very good bullet when I seat and crimp like the original military loads.  In modern rifles with .458 diameter barrels I haven't found the crimp to be necessary.
