Remington RB #1 Argentine

Trying to research the value of 43 Spanish Rolling Block / Argentine 1879. The gun looks to be unissued with sharp bright rifling, 100% blue, crisp lettering. Seems almost too pristine for its age. I have photos if someone with experience with these wants to PM me.
I am not trying to sell it part, of a "collection" of a friend's deceased husband and she is looking for info.
I was able to help her out with the other items but this one is well out of my area.

Thanks
MJ

These were reinished an rebluld in the 1950's before imported. My fther bought one of them and shot it for years. Is yours marked on the octagon part of the barrel? Mine wasn't,many are not marked.I  have seen them for sale at$500-600 on gunboker. If marked on the octagon it would be worth more.

Yes, the one she has is marked "MODELO ARGENTINO 1879 E N" on the top flat of the barrel between the action and the rear sight.

Thanks for the info.

Background: In 1883, Argentina decided to convert their caliber to ?? from the 43 Spanish.  They surplused all their '43's back to the Remington factory where they were refurbished and later distributed to the retail market.  In the '90's, decided to go with the 7mm

The price range of 500 -700 is the normal prices depending on condition.  I paid $700 for mine.  It's mint

Is the widow looking only for historical information about the rifle or is her real desire to sell off the 'collection'?

I belive she is wanting to sell the items although I would not use the term " collection" too stringently.

The other rifles are pretty standard fare 1950's ca  Savage 99 / Win 94 carbine and this one.

The others I've been able to help her find buyer's at fair + prices [most are friends of her husband hence the +] but none of us were sure about this one, especially with the condition being so "mint" so there are a couple of us taking our time and doing some research as none of the close friends are particularly interested [shooters more than collectors].

Not positive, but I believe they went to the 7.65 caliber in Rollers and Mausers after they dropped the .43 Spanish, and then as you say the 7mm in both Rollers and Mausers.
I've always found it odd that Argentina was buying Mausers and Rolling Blocks at the same time for their military. It seems that all they really cared about was they were the same caliber, even though the Mausers were far superior for military use.

Marlin,
Not very knowledgeable on Rollers, but have never seen or heard of one in 7.65 Mauser. Are the fairly common? Did other countries besides Argentina use them.
