I read this morning that the fires in New Mexico are in two spots now. One near Ratone and the other near Luna. The Luna fire is the one that they spent the most time on. Luna isn't that far from The Borchardt Rifle Co. Is everyone there all right? What about Ratone Is the range OK for matches?

The largest fire in Alberta; north of Fort McMurray is still out of control, and is now 1,411,847 acres (2,206 square miles) in size. It appears this fire was started by multiple ignitions across the landscape from the exhausts of ATV riders without spark arrestors on their exhausts.

At the end of May; a fire started by a tree falling on a power line, immediately started a crown fire on the edge of the town of Slave Lake. It burned a quarter of the Town and over 500 houses. A helicopter pilot flying a Bell 212 was killed during the wildfire suppression activities.

We are having major wildfire problems in northern Alberta as well.

The fire in NM and AZ are about eighty miles north of the Silver City area, Al Story of Borchardt is between Cliff and Silver City, his property and shop would not be in danger from the current forest fires as he is located in the high desert region with only grass and weeds to burn and he has cleared all vegetation from around his home and shop. We have had several fires here in the Silver City area, one burning 13 homes, we could sure use some rain.

The Raton, NM Track Fire is now 95% contained and is approximately 28,000 acres.

The Alberta Richardson Fire is now being held at 1,487,970 acres (2,325 square miles).
