All of the communities around here have observances at their local cemeteries.  Speeches, prayers, marching bands, the local American Legion post with a color guard and 21 gun salute, the whole megillah.  Should be interesting here, this year.  A friend of mine, retired Army LCOL (and retired high school government teacher) is the main speaker.  He's advised a bunch of local kids, including two of mine, on joining the military.  Some went into the academies, some enlisted.
