BUYER BEWARE

For everyones information take real close care when dealing with small auction houses. I did a telephone call in to bid on a Real-"NOT" Remington Creedmoore. It was bogus as all get out. The consiger had all kinds of stories, and the auctioneer had a different one he had been told. I caught the consigner up in them this morning before the acution. I would have liked it as it was a nice roller but not worth the going amount, I hung the phone up at $5,000.00 and told them I hope the buyer is happy with what is possibly a fake. It had a single set trigger and a non Remington Swiss butt plate. Now we all know these could have been changed by a previous owner but I cannot fathom shooting a 44-77 off hand  OOCH. The set trigger and butt plate would  never have been  allowed at Creedmoore matches. Now I'm afraid that we may see this one surface on gunbroker if purchased by a reseller or some other bigger auction house. Most of the big house will pass on it. Keep close watch out there, and the serial numbers did not match. I can imagine someone fuming when he gets it home and starts to take it apart to check it all over real close.
I get some good buys at small auctions but this one took the cake
Happy Easter.
