Lanolin For Your Bullet Lube Formula

A good source of 100 % Lanolin for those who include such in their bullet lube formula.

For those who don't, you don't know what you are missing.

Also, good for chapped or abraded trigger fingers after shooting the Hudson match !

$9.50 for 7oz. is on the high side and one could probably get more for less at their local pharmacy of which is typically in stock.

Google Anhydrous Lanolin and you will be able to find the best price's available that are out there I just did a quick search and found 16oz. of pure Anhydrous Lanolin for $9.96 at NuSents.

I did not bother to look into it further as I still have some on hand.

Fleabay is the best and cheapest place to get lanolin.

When my Granma lived with us when I was little, she used to slather her arms hands and face with lanolin before bed. We learned to stay clear of granny just before bed, or you'd get slathered.

Did Grannie ever say; " I think I'll just "slip away" to bed, now" after her usual evening slather in lanolin?

So you want so lanolin for your lube!
Might want to consider buying 10 oz can of Bag Balm for 8 buck at your friendly drug store.  Look for the square green can
Ingredients?  For their MSDS:
FORMULA: 0.3% Hydroxyquinoline Sulfate in a Petrolatum-
Lanolin Base

In addition, it's the best case lube - a light wipe with your finger on cases to be sized/reformed - no binding in the die.  Trust me, I've tried commercials and fr frog's homemades.  No comparison

Does Bag Balm wash away completely with hot water?   That's why I use straight lanolin for case lube.   No problem later with slippery cases.

I get Corona horse ointment at the local bigbox farmstore.  pure lanolin and beeswax plus a couple smell goods and a topical antiseptic. Thought if it was good enough for Trigger it'd probably work in my gun.

I had it checked out by the guy who was the soap/lube chemist on the old ShootersTalk cast bullet forum.   Absolutely nothing that will hurt bullets or bore, BP or smokeless.   Its real soft, about the consistency of Vaseline so I melt in some extra beeswax.  use it year round

If you want lanolin, get lanolin.  I think this is where I got it last.

Here is where I get mine - about midway down the page. $10 a pound.

Also a good source for Jojoba oil for some recipes.
