Normal Topic Loading Dies (Read 2119 times)

Loading Dies

I have a new Pedersoli 38-55,  1885 highwall. Ordered a bullet mold from buffalo arms, but I'm not sure what brand of dies to go with. I've never done this before. Is one brand better for bpcr than the others, and if so, what about loading presses as well.. Thanks for your help.

Dont think it matters much.  Make sure to get the three die set if you plan on shooting lead bullets. 

For most of my fixed BP target loads I dont size the cases.

The RCBS Cowboy dies for 38-55 have two different expander sizes. I believe your Pedersoli will use the larger diameter expander. Not sure what size expanders you'll find in other dies, but I imagine that some of them will be set up for the smaller diameter bullets for .375" bores.

Buy the RCBS Cowboy as Gunlaker says. I have a Pedersoli Hi Wall in 38-55 and made the mistake of buying the other green box dies. Great dies but set up for .375 jacketed bullets. The cowboy dies work great.
