Stevens 418 Question

Anybody know if they ever came with a standard open rear sight in addition to the tang sight? Two of mine have dovetails for the rear sight with a filler blank and the third has no dovetail. I am looking at one that has a rear open sight. Could have been added later if the dovetail was there. Curiious if anyone has seen one like this.

My Stoeger's catalog shows both the 418 & 418 1/2 with no rear barrel sight & no dovetail slot & the description for sights is; "rear tang sight & bead front".           ...MIKE...

The only catalog I've seen with a rear sight on the barrel of a 418/418 1/2 is in the 1932 catalog.
