To add a little to this, I ordered a mould from David, and at the same time one from Hoch. I have not seen anything from either one yet. But I expect to get something from Both. I have found that it isn't unusual for non on the shelf items to take a extra time. I have to admit if I call Hoch he will answer his phone.  Still expecting a mould  Smiley

Found this today on the cast bullet site!    "Contact info is correct. He has been on vacation. Cut him some slack. Great guy. Have patience.

I would encourage everyone to go back to the first post and read all the posts very carefully. This all started with an add on the ASSRA Forums - ‘finished moulds, ready to ship, for sale’.

Few have attacked David personally, but some have spoken for him, and some have defended him, or made excuses for him. Most of us have only asked to be given a status report (mine a ‘ready to ship .25 caliber mould’ paid for January 24, 2011) – with no response.

And now, 5 months later, the latest excuse - he’s on vacation????????????

After 35 years in the automotive business (irate customers and an incompetent boss/owner) my trusted office manager once told me I was very patient but had no tolerance.

At this point I’m done. No patience or tolerance left. I will start my search for legal action. I only wish I had used a USPS Money Order – the Federalies would have taken care of things.

I truly am sorry it has come to this, but all I have asked for (repeatedly) was a response to my many phone calls. A voice on the other end of the line would have made everything OK.

If I’m out of line here, please let me know, publicly. It wouldn’t be the first time I was wrong.

    Jerry

You have said it all. Just let your customers know what is going on. That is what I did when I was behind doing service work.

Now that he is back from vacation I hope he will come onto this site and give us all an update.

I must confess, my bark is far worse than my bite. I've done nothing in the way of legal action. I really hoped I wouldn't have to. Maybe I have more patience and tolerance than I thought?

I'll keep my fingers crossed and my hopes up.

After thinking about it for some time, I guess I still have patience, but lack tolerance.

A phone call, a post here on the forums, an email, even a post card from the Bahama's would do wonders with my tolerance.

You know someone mentioned Kelver's "Respectfully Yours, H.M. Pope."  Not everything was all that responsive from Harry.  Look at how he treated C.W Rowland or how he treated others when he got upset and someone did not deliver something he needed.  They were also letters where Harry did not produce the goods when he should have.

People are human and have human frailties.  Don H mentioned a gunsmith in the thread that was not feeling well.  That gunsmith's name was David S from Fort Wayne, IN.  He passed away from colon cancer less then three weeks after it was diagnosed.

I have no idea what is going on with David Mos.  If he is ill, then it would be nice if we knew.

When Harry Pope died in 1951 there was a lot of confusion about unfinished work in the shop.  These things happen.

Hopefully David Mos is OK.

You might consider getting a mould from Paul and David Jones.

(You need to Login or Register to view media files and links);   Unfortunately the smalleset he makes is .32 caliber.  He is great person to work with.  Call him and see what he can make for you.  I have one of his moulds and it increased my scores from an average of 230 to low-240's out of 250.  My old bullet was a 202 grain tapered Pope for a .32 40.

I make almost all my own stuff for shooting.  I can even make a mold. Might ruin, 0 - 4 or 5 blocks doing it.   Better for me to have a mold made.

It's a talent that needs to be practiced regularly. The tooling is too expensive to make a few molds for myself.

I think we're supposed to suffer a little for the good stuff we get. If we get it.

Getting a mold from Dave takes some suffering.   A little too much suffering I think.   You have to go into tolerance mode for the wait. Once you get the mold you can go into forgiveness mode.  I'm stuck in dont forget mode.  Not mad mode.    Smiley

Trust mode, is the real tough one.

In my humble opinion, there shouldn't have to be any 'modes' to go through. But, being just a Grasshopper, I will strive to be more like Master Joe.

Master Joe,

As a mere Grasshopper, I realize I have a long road to travel before I can enter your temple.

However, it appears that two new aspiring students want to learn the way of trust and faith from Master Joe, and jump to the front of the line.

I'm number one Grasshopper. I get my mould first.

Grasshopper.
I ordered a mold from Steve Brooks three weeks ago. At that time he told me it would be about three weeks wait time. I got the mold today.

When you have reached my level, you will order molds from reliable sources.  It is all part of growing. In wizdom follows all things good.   Huh

Good luck in your journey and dont take no wooden nickels.
