Yes you can shoot fixed ammo in rifles designed for breech seating depending on your cartrdige case.

However some wildcat cartridges were designed only to hold the powder and may not have enough space or the right throat to shoot as fixed ammunition. You can shoot it as fixed ammuntion if your case is designed to do so.

No different than many rifles which have a long lead and require the bullet to jump. However rifles with shorter leads tend to shoot a bit more accurately. And of course a throat for breech seating will have a longer lead when shot with fixed ammo. So yes it can be done. Will it be as accurate? Probably not.

Screwloose no expert here. however

My CPA 38/55 was set up for fixed.  6 ot 7 years ago sent it back to CPA had it throated and bought one of there Hoch molds, shot breech seated a little better than fixed.  Now am shooting a club match that requires fixed. It's shooting better than it did fixed before it was throated, do seat them out a bit longer than before.

I pay attention to seating the bullet to just engage the lands.  I suspect fixed or breech that's the real key.  Fixed I am not working the bullet much seating which probably makes the difference one to the other mimimal.

Trials bike.   Don't think it was warmed up enough.  Almost broke my leg with it at Cody last year.

So Joe buddy of mine is trying to sell me his Honda single Cylinder 750 Dakar model he says. It's about 20 years old. I don't think it's realy been to Dakar though

Sure it will Boats!  My trials bike is only about ten horse power. I'm the one that did it wrong. Pilot error.  Embarrassed   Dakar?  Lol!

Thanks guys
Now I understand. I needed a mental picture. My M1 jumps almost 1" to the rifling dosn't seem to affect acuracy. It shoots cast real well.It would be an easy gun to rig a breach seater for. May mess with it when I have nothing else to do.
Motorcycles are also one of my vices. I have a couple. 1960 BMW R69 and a 1995 R1100. I preferr to ride the old bike have had it since1965.
I think Joe rides with his helmet on backwards.

Boats,
If it don't throw ya, it'll drag ya! Better spend your money on guns; much safer.

Joe:

You better let Sticky have that bike. He knows how to stay with her, bump after bump. Is he still just riding or have you taught him how to drive too.
