One need not be a member to shoot at an ASSRA event. New shooters and guests are welcomed and incouraged. I am sure someone will chime in with an isolated horror story. However I have seen and partisipated in helping get new shooters started in ASSRA events. Please come to a match and join the insanity you will find the frendliest shooters on the planet.

COME to the match!  You've received two good answers from board members - the first gave you ALL the info (albeit it took me 45 minutes to scan through to find that out.  I think there's something about having to be a member if you set a record and having it count.)  The second answer was the practical informal answer - come and enjoy the shoot!  You will find that the friendship and help you get AT the match is non-stop.

Call/write/email the Scheutzenmeister of the match prior to coming - he'll be able to tell you more what to expect - course of fire, directions, food and so forth.

Thanks guys,
I just wanted to be sure I don't have to be a member to shoot, did not want pay the match entry fee and then have someone ask me for a membership card or member number. I intend to start shooting this spring. I may join ASSRA or I may not, from what I see going on right now I would sooner remain neutral and not get to involved, just want to give this type of shooting a try.
