Quote:The BOD must feel like they just had a group prostate exam.
and the BODs are indicating that BODs are now considered evil.
It is unfortunate this has occurred. This has happened since there is not an appropriate communications mechanism for the BODs to communicate what they have been doing for members; and members and Clubs do not feel they are able to provide input on issues and put forward their needs to the Board.
Recommendation # 1: Develop a new communciations mechanism to improve the enviroment and develop the support of members, non-members and Clubs and to provide transfer of information that will enable better participation of single shot shooters with the BODs.
For example the BODs meet monthly; we recommend the minutes of the Board meetings be published on this forum and periodically issue newsletters to the Clubs identifying which issues were resolved and the reasons for the final decisions. The process will help identify when BODs need input for consideration of options.
Recommendation #2: Develop a new mechanism that has a BOD representing each individual Club at the executive meetings. Each of the BODs in position should be nominated to represent specific Clubs. That BOD should be required to electronically seek the Club's input on the issue and to bring forward recommendations initiated by the Club to the Board or to act as a mechanism to insure there is someone at the Board level to engage in two way communications with the Club.
A process that improves the representation of members and Clubs and better informs them what the Board and Exective have been doing, and that they are trying to move forward with Club and members needs wll result in greater participation by Clubs. It will result in more of us willing to fully fund the ASSRA and be even willing to pay a higher membership fee as a Club.
Improve communications and improve representation and ASSRA will make great leaps forward.
