I posting this to help a friend with finding information about an old bicycle rifle he recently purchased for his collection. I have taken several photos of the rifle and will post here as well as send photos to anyone that may want a better look at this unusual Little rifle. My friend collects Stevens and Frank Wesson bicycle rifles, so it was just natural that he was attracted to this fine little rifle. Here is what is known about the rifle at this point. It is a 22 rim fire, with brass frame, and wire take down butt stock. On top if the barrel are the only marking on the firearm. It reads "J V SETTER". There are no other marking anywhere. We would like to hear from anyone that may know something about this J V SETTER  marked bicycle rifle. The man that sold it to the present owner said that it came from the west coast, but didn't know anything else about it. The gunsmithing is well done on this fine little piece and it's great condition for a firearm that appears to be well over 100 years old. OH! By the way the present owner tells me that I need to make it clear it is not for sale. Sendaro

Frank Sellers book "American Gunsmiths" only lists J.V. Setters as "unlocated. Tip up single shot pistols like Stevens"
