breech seater

I've built a breech seater  like Rus Webber makes.I had great hopes for it ,until I tried to use it .I bent the ram in it . I used 1/4 in dril rod for the ram.
My rifle is a Browing highwall 45-70 . It's bore is  .450 , groove is .457
I tried to stuff a bullet with bhn hardness of 9 and dia. of .4585 .
I got it a little over 1/2 way in before it bent . Should I size the bullet down a bit or rebuilt it  with a heavier ram.
I've never breech seated before so I need some advice Please !  Cry

I have also used bullet seaters designed like the Weber seater.
Yes they all bent.

I believe Russ has figured out the proper pivot points so there is no sideways torsion.

Anyways I just buy his seaters now.
Too many problems or inaccuray from similar models made for me. Have had no problem with the ones made by Russ himself.

Hi Dave
I found some pictures of your seaters you posted here back in 2008.
I revamped my seater per your pictures. It works just fine even with harder bullets.
                                                thanks Gene
