I'm really glad someone brought this back to the top.  I've got an STS that has cross hairs like fence posts.  I've been thinking of trying a DIY change.  nice to know of a good repair source,  just in case

Now for a couple questions:

what about the dots?   fine drop of glue or paint with a supefine 1-hair brush?

Who repairs old Redfield 3200s?

Several years ago I tried to replace some Xhairs in an old Unterl I had. I found the smallest wire I could find, and it looked line telephone poles when looking thru the scope.
I talked to a guy that worked for Litshert at a gun show in norhtern IN one time and he had xhair wire he had big stuff, .0015 dia and smaller stuff, .001. Hard to even see it over your finger.

I can not imagine trying to put a 1/8th minute dot at the junction of the stuff.  I'd more than likely be cross eyed after trying.
