I have searched the site but have been unable to find explanations for the user categories of newbie, Junior Member etc. Noting that there are many inciteful posts by non-full members or frequent elocutionists, I am curious to know why the titles. Seems sort of degrading in a way, IMHO just because one posts often does not mean much.

most of them are merely a method of categorizing by post count, nothing more. (posts in the "For Sale" section do not count toward the total)

You are correct, post quality has nothing to do with quantity.

Frequent Elocutionist 1000+ posts
Oldtimer 500 to 999 posts
Senior Forum Member 250 to 499 posts
Full Forum Member 50 to 249 posts
Junior Forum Member 10 to 49 posts
Newbie 0 to 9 posts

Note that the following categories are assigned and do mean something, and replace the post count model.

ASSRA Target Sales
ASSRA Board Member
ASSRA Journal Editor
Global Moderator
YaBB Administrator

Then there is one more that is added after the post count title, that allows access to post scores in that particular forum.
