I have so enjoyed the great photos recently posted that I was moved to snap a few of my own to share.  I'd rather be out shooting them, but will be stuck at home for at least another month looking after the head of the household who broke her leg (I told her not to chase that beer truck!)  Anyhow, in order of appearance, these are:
Custom Stevens Model 52 , Smith Barrel in 25-21.
Custom High Wall, Douglas Barrel in 25-35.

I'll post photos of a couple of original Stevens in the next post.

Marlin,  That was a beautiful Ballard action to start with and the stock work is excellent. Now you dress it up with a fully lined alligator case. Sort of over the top, but I sure do like it.  Very nice work.

Dale,
The High Wall wood came from Paul Shuttleworth over 20 years ago.  The action is a Meacham and all the work including the engraving was done for me by Delta Gun Shop.

How do you like that Sharps? I had one exactly like it for about ten minutes.

Shoot good?  Shoot targets with it?

it's a definite keeper for me.  i saw it selling new for just a hair over $1k last year and that included shipping.  then spent a number of dayze finding out as much as i could about it, and the results were in favor of getting it.  some were saying the barrels on these chiappa-armi (cimarron branded) team usa sharps were made by badger usa but that's not true according to two different chiappa sources.  all the parts are made in-house, or local, at chiappa.  the receiver and action are cnc machined, though.  i have #58 of 500 and the fit and finish is as good as it gets, even compared to the big dollar montana s/s rifles - i get that reaction from other folks, too.  i dunno how well the steel is tempered, or how long it'll take to bust a pin or spring or worse, 'cause so far i only have just shy of 600 of my handloads through it (all smokeless aa5744 - about to change that next month as i'm currently building bp cartriges for it).  i cast my own tin:lead bullets and use my home brew bullet lube, too.  i replaced the vernier rear with a lee shaver soule and hadley eye cup.  the spirit level front globe is actually quite good.  i added a kick killer butt pad to help with my perpetually sore frozen right shoulder.  in terms of accuracy, at this stage of the game it's a lot better than me. Smiley

the my jury's not out on this one yet, but so far i'm kinda thinking mebbe you mighta wanted to have held on to yers.   Cool

Don't find that I have posted this before. It is my Hyper Single in 257 Roberts. They were built by Sam Lair in Jenks, Okla. This one was made for Charlie Williams who made the triggers that Shilen makes now and the Benchmaster receivers. It is serial Number #002.

Jim Kobe in Minnesota carved the stock and Kathy Forster did the checkering. The wood is French Walnut that I got from Tom Turpin.

Butch,
A beautiful rifle, you didn't mention who did the butt plate but, boy oh boy, that is a real work of art. The metal checkering appears to be flawless.  Smiley

When I purchased it from Charlie's estate it had a Myrtle wood stock. I still have it. The butt plate was one I had in some old original box that I got when I bought a couple pickup loads from Red Cornelison's estate. I had another and like a fool, sold it.
