	Here is my 32-40 Ballard with it's bench forearm ala, Tony Larson. The barrel is a Smith Gain-Twist.

	It's not a Moeller--its a Buechel Meister but for licensing to shoot it in the UK the police like to have a name and the only full name on it is the barrel maker, Moeller It was actually built by Bruno Anschutz, a cousin of the more famous family, but his mark his very small and under the forend. Calling it an Anschutz would really confuse Mr Plod. The Buechel does not have a swinging block---it is a true falling block type. Fred

	Fred, take a look at my two pictures on page one of this thread. Is yours hinged on the lever like both of mine are? I'm trying to find out what system mine is. I'm not sure mine would be called a falling block. The block is supported by the rear of the frame at the top and by the hindge on the lever at the bottom of the block. It doesn't slide in a mortise (i'll pull the lever and block out today to make sure i'm right on this). Frank

	The Buechel system is similar if not identical to yours. The block pivots on the lever and slides vertically in a mortise which is closely fitted at the top rear and has the effect of tightening the block aginst the breech as it closes. The best way to find out what you have exactly is to purchase volumes 1 & 2 of Alte Scheibenbuschen. These books are the bible for German Schuetzen rifles. You would not believe how many variations there are and the books don't claim to cover all of them. The snag is that they are expensive. They also contain details of all the smaller makers marks, which are usually found under the forend. I was able to identify the barrel steel maker, the barrel maker and the builder of my rifle. 	Joel, is it a #3 barrel? Anyhow you should sell it to me. HA! In any case it looks to me to be a nice Rifle. And of course it fits all the requirements of a Schuetsen Rifle. Regards, FITZ.
