Single Shot Rifle Picture Thread

Why is there no single shot rifle picture thread? We are all here because of our love for these very fine rifles, old and new, yet we do not have a 'sticky' thread for folks to post pic's. I'll start with my 1885 Low Wall, made in 1891 'before' pic and follow up with a pic of the finished product when the rifle is back in my hands.

Show us your rifle. They are wonderful pieces to look at and share.

Great idea!

Heres a Schoyen Ballard with a B Buckles coil spring breech block. Dated 1956.

Notice the bulk match ammo!  Cheesy

Here is my Ballard (sn 34615) with a Stevens-Pope barrel (#1950).  Scope is 20X Unertl 1.5" target scope and a brass bobsled for bench rest shooting.

There is a posting later on page 9 where I have pictures of this rifle before and after sending it to master gunsmith Earl Hines in Cody, Wyoming for some restoration work.  Enjoy!

All single shot rifles are welcome as far as I'm concerned. There aren't enough of the old ones to go around, so I have one of each.

Those are a couple of beautiful Ballards.

Here is an 'after' pic's on my Low Wall. All work by Keith Kilby.

My German guns, both of the same system. The upper is a std 8.15x46 the lower one is rebarreled (G. Titherington) in 22 rf. They are both just as I got them but, I added the barrel weight on the 22.

Another good idea with the picture thread would to be for people to trace former owners. I know nothing about my Ballard Pacific. I bought it as is in Redding, CA from a gun store.

A sticky picture thread ??  Great idea.  Not only are they pleasing to the eye to just look at but there are tons of ideas to perhaps use on the next project.

I had it for years before I found out, and then it was somebody on this forum that advised me to look at US patents.
It is a Fiedler's Patent---possibly THE Fiedler's Patent as I have failed to find evidence that any more were made. The lock appears to be a plain Birmingham commercial type, but the rest is American. Bolt action--you have to move the hammer to half cock before opening the bolt. The whole thing strips down easily with one screwdriver and the barrel is only finger tight in the action. The patentee was trying to devise an economical way of converting muzzle loaders, but this is anything but economical. it is complex with difficult machining involved and beautifully made and finished. It was chambered for a cartridge similar to 32 S&W long but with a tapered case. I re-lined it to 32 S&W long, using a length of 303 barrel. With a 100grn bullet and 3 grn of bullseye you can shoot one hole 50yd groups with it all day. The set triggers help.
