I've resently bought a Uberti 1885 High Wall with a 32" barrel and would like to mount a Malcolm scope to it. Can anyone help me with mounts and such. I'm lookin at the Leatherwood Hi-Lux Wm. Malcolm Rifle Scope 3/4" Tube 6x 16mm 32" from Midway USA. Looks like I'll need an extension atleast. But mainly concerned with the mounts needed to make this a great target rifle.

I've read on some posts about getting a scope from Montana Vintage Arms. Is that better or just as good?

Wing,
The Leatherwood mounts are terrible. I don't know about the long 32" Leatherwood scope but the 18" scope is fine. See the article at the following link.

I want to thank all of you for some very helpful info!!!! I leaning toward a MVA scope with DZ mounts. Found a Lyman 20x superspot I think I'll put on a Henry 44mag lever I own as well.

I had an MVA on a roller and it worked ok but I was not happy with the style. IMHO they don't look right (authentic) for an 1870/80 rifle. Sold the roller and the scope, bought an RHO for my heavy (14lb) M1874. Hope to shoot it this coming weekend.
I have been thinking about putting a Leatherwood or MVA (short version) on a Marlin lever...
