Is this a rimfire? Who's got ammo, and if it 60% with petina what is it worth? thanks kinglooie

Pictures would be helpful. What model is it? If it is a Favorite or other boys rifle it would be a .25 Stevens Rimfire. 44 or 44 1/2 could be centrerfire or rimfire. Early tip up could also be centerfire or rimfire. .25 Stevens Rimfire is available in the old stock market only. The minimum I have been able to buy it for is $50 per box of 50 + shipping and up from there.

    Or, you could open the finger lever, lowering the breech block,  and smear a small amount of Prussian blue around the circumference of the barrel end at the breech.  Next, push the firing pin forward so it protrudes from the block and place a small dab of Prussian blue on the F.P. tip.

  Finally, cut a piece of card stock , ( a 3 X 5 filing card will do ) and hold it between the barrel face and the breech block as you raise the finger lever closing the block against the chamber face.  Now just use a small brass pin to move the F.P. forward against the inserted card, which will make a blue dot.  I would not dry fire it !

  Open the breech, retrieve the card, and the question should be answered as to Rim Fire, Central Fire ? ? ?  You should be looking at a blue circle, with a blue dot somewhere inside the circle.
