It's expesive,but there's a Stevens 418 on Guns International with a Winchester 8 x scope, it's listed as a 414 armory, a real beauty.      ...MIKE...

Thanks for pointing that one out. I gave it a look and thought it was a 414 and passed over it. It is a 418. Does no one know what these are?? At first the price looks out of sight but if you figure what the scope is worth, it is not totaly out of sight. The only problem is the scope was originaly made specificly for a Winchester 75 bolt action .22. I picked one up a few years back for $25. The guy did not know what it was and neither did I. I did know I stole it at the time. When I researched it and found out what it was, I mounted it on the Military Trainer Model 75 that I had. Lets see, if I bought the gun, sold the scope and installed a Stevens scope that I have on hand??? Got to think about that one. Problem is my real estate tax bill is due soon. Sure is a nice 418 though and .22 Short is an odd one.

Good eyes, guys.
Slumlord, we've been seen this before--no no one knows what they are.
Wonder if it is a 418 or a 418 1/2?  Cant tell by the rear sight or the front sight in the pics
BUT--I do have to find out what that front sight is--STILL looking for a Lyman 104 front sight for mine.
So, lets see, if I sold the scope and sold the rear sight and used my spare  144 rear sight----I'd still be in to it for over a grand and its a 22 short.
Slumlord--you're safe!
Might call the guy just to get a pic of the front sight though!

Actualy I would like to have it BECAUSE it is .22 short. The guy knocked a few bucks off it when I asked him what his bottom dollar was, but it wasn't much of a discount. I am having problems justifying it with my realestate tax first payment due in a few weeks. I think the rear sight is a Lyman #2. I would ask him for a better picture of the front sight. Guy seems to be agreable, just high priced.
