Looks like I'm the winner on (I'M GUNBROKE) for another mod. 14  I'm pretty excited!  It doesn't look like a mint one for sure, but for what I got it for I'm pretty happy,  If all goes well this one makes three.  I'll keep you guys posted with pics when it gets here.

14 or 14 1/2? 14's are a little scarce. Looiking foreward to pictures. Picked up a nice 14 a while back from an add in Single Shot Exchange. Exterior, metal and wood is about as nice as you could find. Bore has some minor pitting near the chamber but shoots as good as you can expect from a 100 year old low end boys rifles. Neat little gun. How is the bore in yours?

This is a 14.  My third one.  I just won it on gunbroker about two hours ago.  It'll be a week or ten days I suppose before I get it.  Judging by the pictures it's about 75%.  I think I have another that's a little better, but that's no reason not to buy another one.  Right!

I must be slipping in my old age. I monitor Stevens on Gunbroker every day and somehow missed this one. Decent 14 and fair price. Would not have been bidding if I had seen it though. Got a nice one already and not in the market for another one unless I could find one better than the one I have with a pristine bore. Curious to see how it shoots. Limit mine to target shorts. Accuracy is decent for what the gun is. It is no target rifle for sure but could hit small game at under 25 yards. Tried CB's and had one stick in the bore. Think I mentioned some light pitting in the bore. I blame that on the CB sticking. You may have better luck if your bore is better. Good purchase.

    Powder Head;

     My J. Stevens Arms & Tool Co, gun catalog dated 1902 doesn't list the Model 14.  It does, however, show the Model 15 titled the " Stevens - Maynard , Jr. ", which is a tip up action.

     I would appreciate knowing what the Model 14 is, was it discontinued by J. Stevens by 1902, and do you have a photo you would care to post for educational purposes ?

     Thanks much,

  The mod. 14 is the first model of the "Little Scout", however is looks just like the Stevens "Junior".  The mod. 14 1/2 Little Scout looks nothing like its name sake.  I'll post some pictures at a later time.  Meanwhile, check Grant's or DeHaas' books on Stevens little boys guns.  I thought they were pretty rare for awhile, but have acquired three of them in the past year or two.  I just can't pass them up when they are selling for a little over $200 each.
