comparing FBW Modle L and a Browning 1885

Has anyone  here compared the FBW Modle L to the new winchester 1885 action In regards to size strength ease of cleaning and durability. All I really know is the FBW action is supposed to be able to take a 1 1/8 inch barrel thread and supposed to be a large scaled up highwall. Anyone here got experience in these two actions. Looking to build a 50-90. Thanks for any ideas

FBW's are very easy to take apart and clean, Browning/Winchester 1885's are not. I have no knowledge of what material the action of the Browning 1885's are machined from (I'd guess a 8620 casting), all FBW's are machined from cast 4140 steel and heat treated!
The older Browning's had a barrel major diameter of 1.150" and as you said the FBW is 1.125".
texasmac on this site has tons of info on the Win/Browning 1885's, even wrote a book about the black powder target models. (You need to Login or Register to view media files and links)

The barrel tennon is 1 1/8 on the modle LIs that larger than the browning  The width of the FBW action is 1.47. Do you know what the browning receiver width is

i have 4 mod j's and they a simply the easiest action to work on, unlike the briownings.
all shoot extremely well. my oldest is a 32-40 i barrelled 16 years ago and it will shoot one inch at 200 all day. it has consistantly shot 248,249 when i do my part.
there are a lot of good stock available for it,(shuttleworth)
tang sights may be difficult fore the bpcs as i have never seen sopme one advertise for them but you can get around that.
