I am sure I could get several people to shoot it at Black Wolf.  Are you thinking any particular weekend?  I would like to see it in either late Aug or Sept.

Frog,   I think this year that will be called the "Celebration Day Match". Next year it'll be back to Election Day Match.

The original Election Day matches were shot early October.  Back then, there were no such things as absentee ballots.  You showed up & voted on Election Day, even if you had to travel for a bit to get there. Weather was too chancy in November, so the voting was done after all the crops were in.  The saloons were closed and there was not all that much to do, so an all-day rifle match drew both competitors and spectators.

Redwood Schuetzen Verein held an Election Day match last year, 100 shots offhand at 200 yards.  Four of us competed.  We started about 9 AM & were done by 3 PM.  Lots of fun. Great picnic lunch.

This year's Election Day shoot is scheduled for Saturday, October 2, starting at 9 AM.  Rules are any traditional single shot rifle and any traditional sights, including the usual Lyman or Unertl or similar telescopes.  ASSRA or WSU targets at 200 yards.  All shots offhand.  This year's match is ANY caliber, meaning it is OK (and a lot less work) to shoot a 22 rimfire.  We have stretched the traditional rifle definition a bit by allowing Martini Internationals to qualify.  We're not very fussy.  No one would complain if you showed up with a Krag.

If you are reading this and will be near the Left Coast in early October, you are invited.  Please let me know in advance if you are thinking about attending.  That's just so we have enough lunch.  FWIW, our range does not allow booze, not even beer, so it won't be exactly like the old time matches.
