Stevens barrel weight

Have a"Ideal" 25-20 with a #2 stamped bottom flat just aft of the round. Have 44 1/2 22 with a #2 stamped just aft of the round. Both barrels are 15/16 across the flats ahead of the receiver. Now the kicker and the reason for my question, a 44 "Range" rifle that measures 1 and a 1/16 across the flats in front of receiver also has the #2 stamped in the same place. So it would seem that the #2 is not a barrel weight? My 1902 catalog list 5 barrel weights, which do I have. This barrel is 30" long.
Thank You, Andy

I am thinking they should be the same measurements. The #2 was the standard barrel weight unless you special ordered something else. What caliber is the larger barrel? Not in a place where I can check my reference material at this time.

Heavy barrel is .22 L. R. with a very nice bore. Friend suggested that barrel time must be a couple seconds!

Andy, I've got a 44 1/2 with a 32" full oct barrel that's almost 1 1/4" across, flat to flat & it's marked, #3. I think drinking was allowed on the job at the Stevens plant.            ...MIKE...

Mike I think the #2 stands for 2nd shift. Today I weighed my barrel and found it 6 1/2 lbs. which is close to the catalog 30" #3 weight of 6 1/4 for a 25 cal.. Amish neighbor told me that if it does not shoot he wanted it for a buggy axle.
