I'm a Newbie to guns, not 4yrs old.  It didn't take long to find out about the "anti's" and how the NRA was making a stand for gun folks.  But after 60 years, I'm not a newbie in the ways of the world.  NRA has become their own worse enemy when every gun person I've met says, "I don't like them much but they are the "union" that is organized, established, and 'connected' to make a needed stand.  So we've got to support them." 

We are not as compliant or as ignorant as the "NRA Powers" think.  Many of us can figure out that our dues are paying for the junk mail and the telemarketing junk we get. Like the rest of the politicians in DC they are ignoring and alienating us little guys, and treating us like King George did the colonists - they will do almost anything to squeeze out more "taxes" (oops, a not so innocent slip).   

I have been in a feeding frenzy since becoming a gun nut.  I subscribe to several gun magazines, gun forms, and reading all I can. If I hadn't been I might be tempted to believe what I read in the NRA magazines.  But I've found that I have to cross check all of their information and it is obvious that the NRA articles always have an "agenda" behind them.   

The March 2010 American Rifleman has 90 pages, of those, (counting 3 columns/page) I accumulated 45 pages of actual articles for the "subscriber" to read (including pictures).  The other half of the magazine is shooting related ads, NRA self-supporting, and worst of all non-shooting related promo/ads.  The entire magazine is designed to get more $ out of us.  If the magazine was not free with the dues, I would cancel my subscription (and still might).

The NRA has sold their soul to the almighty buck, and lost sight of their own stated Vision and Mission, as well as their rank and file supporters - ME!

What really hurts is the fact that there are well over 2000 members in this group and less than 200 Signatures on the Petition. It's so easy to sign the petition but it just seems that not many care about it.  Shame on you guys that did not sign it.
