Have looked and asked to no avail as to who made this peep sight.  Even contacted Red River Sights believing it is a Parts Unknown - Nope! ...

I would bet on it being one of Mike Stevens too.  He was developing a sight that was an original design, not a copy of any old sight when he passed away.

Gents, thanks for your knowledge.  This sight does not have an 'S' anywhere, either on the sight or on the base.  The reason to determine who the maker was is because the staff tension spring is missing.  I'll be the 3rd owner of the sight and rifle.  The 1st owner is unknown and the 2nd owner said it was a Parts Unknown.  That's the reason for contacting Red River Sights.  The new owner of Red River, Sergio, on the phone said that maybe it was a 1st generation Parts Unknown.  So I took some pictures and sent them to him.  His reply was it's not a Parts Unknown

So my remaining option is to fabricate a tension spring and have a good time using it.  In the interim, follow up on BP's suggestion that it is possibly a Steven's 130.  I have a friend who has a tremendous reference library.  So maybe we can find a picture of one and go from there

   The posted photo indicates that the base is an investment casting, which is indicated my the maroon color which happens over time when investment castings are blued.

   Also, are the threads metric sizes ?

   Investment cast parts with metric threads both indicate an Italian copy.

Many times parts made from cast iron ( Stevens used a lot of these parts ) will blue up with a maroon cast to them.  This usually will not show up with the older process of bluing but rather when reblued with the more modern process's such as Dulite or Oxanate #7.  Also if the part is lightly case hardened , it also will show this maroon cast to it, but there again, only with the more modern process's.  If these parts are rust blued they usually turn out with a nice deep blue or blackish color.
Note also that the eye piece locking plate has this maroon tinge as well.

That sight looks like one I bought new about 20 years ago.  I believe
it was made by Mid America Restoration or something of that nature
my mind is a little fuzzy on the name but it sounds about right.
I know somebody out there has to remember the company.  They
made reproduction Steven sights.

You Guys Are Amazing!  Out of the parts drawers and in the matter of days, what it is and super pictures to boot.  Kurt, I really appreciate you taking the time to take and post your pictures - especially the 'S' shaped spring. Now I have to get to work and fabricate one.

My intent is to use this freebie sight for our 50 yd club gallery matches and the Schuetzen stock. I got it and a ton of other items with the purchase of the rifle.  CPA is sending me a Silhouette stock and I have several mid range verniers that I can put on it for shooting further out.
