                        Thanks for your attentiveness to spreading this great library of information around to the rest of us.

                        I take it you didn't make it over to the Cavalier Club for the "Ram Bash" today (first Saturday).  It's a little too chilly, and too windy today, but Spring can't be too far off

Hmmm - I must be doing something wrong, I can't  read them...

I could be wrong but don't think these are Goggle Scans.  Looks a little too home made.  You can buy pretty good book readers that act more like a traditonal book on screen.  These don't seem to work that way.

I am scanning through Whelans now.

Yes, these are on google.  If a book is old enough to be in the public domain, it is downloadable.   You can download and read anytime.  Or, print them out for a hard copy...taking lots of paper and ink.

Irish Riflemen in America is downloadable as a 6.42 meg PDF file.

Wheelens book is 18.2 megs.

Even parts of modern books are there.  You can look at indexes and see if the book is worth reading.   Then ask your local library to get them through interlibrary loan.  (My library will even get reloading manuals).

Kind of neat isn't it that Google has digitized many books, articles, documents, etc and they are available online.  It gets even better:
*  Use Google as your browser
*  Then set up a Google Account
*  In my account, I had already linked to many of the books listed in the thread and others that are not on the thread.
*  One really neat feature of your account is to turn on 'Web History'  It keeps a list of searches you have done on the Internet.  You can delete ones you don't want and the others will stay.  I have one search that I did back in July 2009 ... 'Relative Quickness of Black Powder' a subject that is note really discussed in the forums.  Now, I can click on my Google 'Relative Quickness of Black Powder' and it will take me to 10 scrolling pages of documents in Google Books where the subject is discussed for Relative Quickness!

Then one can open and read the documents for details to find what your looking for
