case trimmers

If one was to buy a power case trimmer  would you choose between a forester drill press trimmer  59.00  or the RCBS 250,00 model.  or does one have one for sale less than these prices  I am, not a major trimmer just more for a particular rifle trimmer.  not doing thousands just a few a year type

I have a forster, wilson and a lot of lee case trimmers with lock stud. Guess which one see's the most use. The lee's. Stick the lock stud in a cordless drill, insert the trimmer and done deal. I find the lee setup faster than either wilson or forster. Frank

I have used a Forster trimmer for years. If I am going to do a lot of cases I unscrew the handle, put on a nut and use a power screwdriver with a nut driver mounted. it works great.

I  have two Saeco trimmers but use the Lees all most 100 %

Thing about Trimming is it's not the only case prep job that needs to be done.  I chuck a new case up in the lathe with one of Lees collet case chucks.  Turn it slow then trim with Lees tool, chamfer the inside, hold a piece of 600 paper on the outside to de-bur the mouth, then run a flash hole tool in to clean it up.

4 jobs one chucking using hand held tools from Lee.  You could do all 4 with a power drill just as easy as in the lathe.

I use an older Lyman hand crank tool, modified to take a power screwdriver instead of the crank.  Does fine for what little trimming needs to be done.

4-D/C-H Tool and Die makes a fantastic case trimmer that uses regular shell holders and C-H pilots.  I've had one for years.  it is a workhorse.  Truly the Mother of All Case-trimmers!!

Look at the Lee case trimmer.  The price is half that of the others.  Also get the chamfering tool and the primer hole uniformer.  In all you will spend less than any of the others.
