	An article I penned last year for the Journal placed the BSA International Match Rifles as the #1 gun shot during the rimfire matches, followed by Ballards. I think the cost and performance is one of the major reasons for it's success. KAF, think you are thinking of the small frame BSA martinis, they were dropped in the mid 1950's as someone stated. The International series went well into the early to mid 1980's as was also stated. As long as the stock is not a thumbhole style (forbidden is section 1.14 of the rules), the factory stocks are accepted as legal. Freestyle stocks are "not encouraged" but also "not forbidden" by the same section. The International series do not qualify to be used as a "traditional" rifle as they did not appear before the 1917 cut off point. However, Model 12 BSA rifles, among others, should as they pass the date test. I am not aware of any rimfire "traditional" shoots held during the rimfire matches but I am sure 1/4 Bore can clarify as he is a traditional type guy. Me I just like to shoot. TTFN Ed

	quarterbore, has there been a change in the rules while I wasn't looking, or is this just your opinion. The Martini action rifles have been on the line at Etna Green for at least 20 years, that I know of, since when are they not legal. We must remember that all singleshot rifles do not look like Win Hi-walls, Ballards & Stevens. ledball

	Heck a whole bunch of classic Schuetzens were martini actions, Historic and traditional as can be. Maybe the actual BSA small bore variations are post 1900, but that doesn't prohibit us from shooting them. Besides to my understanding, the whole "traditional" thing is simply a self imposed designation we can mark on our score sheets if our gear meets the criteria, we don't have any "traditional"-only matches do we?

	Reread what I said. I said .22 Martinis are allowed in the .22 matches. Centerfire martinis are allowed in the centerfire matches. I never said they were not. All I did was refer you to the rule listed in one of the above posts. It states something to the fact of the looks of the rifles.
