                        I hope you had a great Christmas down in Texas, and I wanted to thank you for sending along a copy of your article about "Jerky", . . .it's history and how best to make it at home.

    I am one who reads a lot of Western literature, both fiction and non-fiction, as well as a bunch of Mountain Man books.  As you say, those folks wouldn't be caught without a week's supply of jerky in their saddlebags or their hunting bag.

     I have some free time towards the end of this week and will be trying some of your suggestions for " Great Jerky ".

     Thanks and a " Happy New Year " to all the hands around the camp fire down at your spread in Texas from us mountain types up here in Pennsylvania.

             I've taken a look at your web site and can see that you've been a busy guy developing informative literature regarding the Browning High Wall and it derivatives.

     Have you ever read any of the Western literature written by Richard Matheson ?  He won the Spur Award for his Western novel Journal of the Gun Years (Although he lives is California, I try to overlook that mistake in his life.

      I want to recommend to you the novel titled The Gun Fight which I just finished.  It take place at Millersview, Texas in the year 1871, is that any were near Pflugerville, Texas ?

     There are mostly Conservatives living in Millersview, but as you might expect, they have a few Liberals that just get in the way of having things turning out right.
