The only .218 Bee I have right now is a scoped, new style Marlin 1894.  It is a Hoot with prairie dogs cuz there is less noise, fast sighting recovery, and lighter weight.  The prairie rats almost need to be retarded or never shot at, tho, since the range drops off fast after 250 yards or so.  When it comes to shooting up a dog town, I'll often grab that little Marlin over one of my heavy barreled AR-15 or 40X.  I heckuva lot more phun!

Hi All,
How about the 256 Win . Mag. instead of the 218 Bee,
commercial brass is available, or forming from 357 Mag ?

Before you make a decision take a look at the .17 Ackley Bee. I have had one for over 40 years and shoot it more than anything else I own. The main thing is no ricochets. I have tried many times and never been able to recover a bullet or even a piece of a bullet.
