A good .22 scope: Model 6A scope and Mount, 3x-6x, scope was made 1938-1940.  It has a 3/4" diameter tube, 1" ocular lens and is 15 1/4" long. It has no internal windage and elevation adjustments. The adjustments are made on the mount.  There were many models made for Sears, Wards, etc…

You can pay up to 100.00 for one in great shape on e-pay when they show up (I own six). There were so many made for each customer that you’ll find different numbers on them. They are still around and they fit every .22 scope mounting bolt pattern on the Mossy rifles.

Dave’s web-site has tons of info and cross ref. info which may offer more on the power.. I’ll check my stock for a no. 8 and see what the power is… What is the actual length ???

The majority of the scopes under 15.0” are less than 4 power therefore it’s a safe bet you have a 4 power scope on a Wards #10 Mount… The longer sizes over your length are the 6 & 8 power.. You can measure the power of your scope by aiming at the bottom of a known circle at 25ft, moving the bullet strike to the bottom of the optic view and fire/measure the second round in the center.. Should be half the power of the scope…  I (don’t know if this works but I’ve been told it does).. (should draw some comments)..

The scale on the side of the mount is simply a height adjustment for use at the range when switching back and forth to iron (peep) sights…
