I have not seen a post on the Ballard Rifle Co. latley. Has anybody bought a rifle from then recently ? Quality? Wait Time? Service? Thanx

Like SSS, I too had a conversation with Steve Durren at the NRA convention in Phoenix this summer. I asked him straight-up if they were going to continue manufacturing Ballards and his answer was an unequivocal yes. While not exactly recent, I had ordered a Ballard just prior to the move to MI. When the Cody shop closed down, it was only a barreled action with roughed out stocks so the rifle was finished at the MI shop. I have had the rifle for going on a year now and I judge it as good (fit/finish) as the two Ballards I have that were made in Cody. As to delivery wait time, this rifle is probably not a good case study since its manufacture spanned the move from WY to MI.

I tried to order two butt plates one was suppose to be on hand. I ask them to ship it right away. Two to three months later and several calls I  finally canceled and got them somewhere else, quicker and cheaper. I wish them luck but I don't know how they will do if they tell you something and don't follow through.
