Old Schuetzen Photographs

Print Post

There is a new ASSRA Forum subscriber who goes by the name "45 Gov't." who kindly posted a magnificent photo image from his collection of a "well decorated" period marksman from the schuetzen era.  (May be viewed under the "For Sale/Trade" heading)

I gather from 45 Gov't's earlier posting, that he has other such images in his collection and was wondering if your writer could prevail upon 45 Gov't to post such additional images as he would see appropriate.  Perhaps, many of these images would be of much interest to our esteemed magazine editor, 40 Rod.

Should 45 Gov't not have the time, nor the interest in sharing his photo collection at this time, please enjoy the one such photo which may be found under the For Sale/Trade heading.

Thanks much,
Creedmoormatch

    Wayne ...
Isn't that a really great image depicting the height of success in our discipline, the Schuetzen Verein.

I would have loved to had been there when such high honor and dedication to a purpose was common place among honorable men.  This image speaks volumes about the character traits that these men lived by.

I do hope we get to see more of Mr. 45 Govt's collection on these pages.

Have a great day,

Webb

Hello Webb,
I do have some more photos, they aren't scanned yet, I will work on that this coming week and get them posted.

I will go ahead and post the one again here and a couple of other things as well, and I will add more as they are scanned

Thanks, Don

Those are really great - - - the serving ladies kind of put me into an Oktoberfest frame of mind !    Wink

You have become quite a celebrity here at ASSRA in the short time that we've known you, so I hope your visits with us will be equally entertaining for you.

Alright, here are a couple more.

First is a German shooter with his rifle and kit, I like this one

I am not sure about the second one looks like he is wearing a king medal or chain??

Thanks, Don

As I was admiring your great collection of photos I noticed that the photo/sketch you use in your heading is a fellow who shoots correctly-that would be LEFT HANDED. Oddly enough at our Schuetzen matches with the Montana Schuetzen Society, Missoula Montana, we quite often have as many as seven Left Handed shooters on the line out of 12-15 shooters. That includes Werner Wolf, a great Schuetzen shooter that some  old time ASSRA shooters know. Thanks for the photos.

If you have the time I would love to get a disc for the Journal. I would take them off the site but Photos off this site aren’t rich enough to reproduce. If you can send me the photos on disc I will make a copy and send it to Rudi for the Archives.

Thanks
