OK when was the ISSA-Schuetzen founded?

ASSRA was 1948

WSU was 1999

But there is no date on the ISSA web site as to when it was founded?  If it is on the web site I certainly did not see it.

1982 was the first year of the modern “Coors Schuetzen Match” held in Golden, Colorado which was, as I recall, the brain child of Max Goodwin. At first Coors Brewing Company sponsored and ran the match but some years later they lost interest in promoting schuetzen shooting, and at that point the ISSA was formed to take over the “Coors Match.” At least that what I remember, perhaps someone who was involved will put together some sort of history of the ISSA.

I dont think Coors lost interest. I'm sure they lost the range in Golden due to an adjacent landowner and a lack of proper permits when they added onto the original range to accommodate the Coors Schutzenfest.
That was about 1990. I was at the Coors match in 88. 
Coors was forced to just drop the match leaving SS competitors to reorganize themselves and find a new range to compete. Porcupine South Dakota I think is where the first match was held after Coors. 
I'm surprised someone with more knowledge hasnt posted about the dates.

Seems as though Gary has thrown down the gauntlet for the ISSA to post some history on its web site. As the web coordinator for that site, if someone can provide accurate dates of the year the ISSA formed and the date of the Porcupine match, I'll post a short history on the site (with consent of the board of directors).
To give you an idea of how fleeting memories are, I was there for those events and can't for the life of me, tell you the exact years.

When Coors dropped the match, a new organization was needed to continue on with matches in the west. A LOT of SS competitors were out of a big yearly match without Coors. Coors dropping out also effected regional matches since Coors sponsored them also. It was not unusual to have over 300  shooters show up at Golden . The first year I competed  entrants had to Qualify to shoot the match. If you missed the cut it was go home or stay and watch. The range in Golden could only handle so many shooters.

The International Single Shot Assoc (ISSA) was established in 1993 to assume the leadership void left when the Coors Brewing Co. terminated its schuetzenfest sponsorship. That was the same year as the Porcupine match in SD. Since '94 the annual ISSA matches have been held at the NRA Whittington Center outside Raton, NM.

Thank you to everyone that has provided feedback on this subject.  Too many times organiztions fail to keep a historical record of their activities.  Every organization "worth its salt" should have a historian.  With ASSRA we have an archivist.  It is far too easy for people to forget what happened in the past.
