I'll be there bright and early SATURDAY.  Likely late late Friday night.  Will bring tin.  Have a couple of new irons to try out - haven't had time yet to even put the scopes on them or load bullets!

It's at the public range at Thurmont, MD.  If you get in touch with Chris or one of his regular attendees, I'm sure they can give you a set of directions.  I haven't been for several years, but IIRC, it should involve a trip up I-81 for you, then a turn out into the boonies of MD.

approximately here: 11617 Hunt Club Rd, Thurmont, MD 21788

Put it into google maps: (You need to Login or Register to view media files and links)

I'll be passing through Roanoke about 6pm Friday night give or take an hour - depending on when I get off work and get the car loaded.

Yesterday, I hear, was a great day for shooting.  Today (what I saw of it) was OK, but a little windy.

GOOD shooting, thanks Chris for hosting the match!  It takes time and energy to make it happen.

All in all it was worth the 5  hour drive one-way (and the down time to put in an alternator on the way).

DD - did a little over 2" groups with the Favorite - that will improve.  Didn't have time to load any 222R's.

    Hi there Moodyholler - - -
Since you are in Roanoke, Virginia, let me mention that there is a first rate schuetzen club that uses the facilities at the Brushy Mountain Club just outside of Gretna, Virginia (approx 35 miles south of Lynchburg on Rt. 29)

You may already be familiar with those activities.  However, should you not be, I would like to recommend them to you.  The match is operated under the able guidance of one Green Frog, who we sometime address as "Charlie"

I had a very enjoyable experience there last weekend ... great range ... friendly folks ... honest dealings ... safe practices ... and, some good discussions over super at the local eatery.

Best wishes,

Creedmoormatch
